Spring: A Season of New Beginnings

Hi – I’m Dr. Kay.
A lot is happening in our world right now. Each day brings fresh headlines filled with partisan politics, reports of violent crime, devastating natural disasters, wars overseas, rising inflation, and health crises—some familiar, and others new. It can be overwhelming, can’t it?
The constant stream of uncertainty and bad news has a way of creeping into our minds and settling into our hearts. It’s easy to become discouraged, even fearful. After all, we don’t have to look far to find injustice and pain in this world.

But when I find myself being pulled down by all the things that are going wrong, I make a conscious choice to look for what is right. That’s not always easy—but it’s essential. One thing that never fails to lift my spirits is spending time in nature. There’s something grounding about the sound of birds returning after winter, the budding of trees, or the warmth of the sun kissing your skin for the first time in months. These small miracles remind me of something much bigger: God’s promises and my true purpose in this life.
Spring is such a powerful symbol of new beginnings. After months of dormancy, the earth awakens with boldness—vibrant colors, fragrant blooms, and life pushing its way through once-frozen soil. It reminds us that no matter how long or dark the winter has been, renewal always comes.

We all experience seasons of winter—periods of loss, discouragement, or stagnation. But like the earth, we too are capable of transformation. Sometimes it comes in the form of a small change—a new habit, a fresh perspective, a shift in priorities. Other times, it’s a complete reawakening of purpose, values, and identity.
As we approach Easter, I’m especially reminded of the greatest gift of all: eternal life through Jesus Christ. His resurrection was not just a historical event—it was the ultimate demonstration that death, despair, and darkness do not have the final word. In Him, we are made new. In Him, we are never alone.
Jesus told us plainly:
“In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
— John 16:33 (NIV)

No matter the trouble you’re facing right now, remember this:
Jesus promises to be with you always, and He is greater than any problem you are facing.
Let spring be more than a change in the weather. Let it be a spiritual reset. A heart-level transformation. A reminder that you too can grow, heal, bloom, and rise again.
This is your season. Step into it.

A Prayer for New Beginnings
Let us pray together…
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gift of spring and the beautiful reminder that You are a God of new beginnings.
When the world feels heavy and uncertain, help me to find peace in Your presence.
Calm my anxious thoughts and fill my heart with hope, even when I can’t see the full picture.
Lord, just as the earth awakens from winter, awaken my spirit.
Renew my mind, restore my joy, and help me grow in faith and purpose.
Remind me daily that in You, I have everything I need—even in the midst of hardship.
Thank You for Jesus, who overcame the world and walks with me through every season.
Help me to trust in Your promises, walk in Your light, and share Your love with others.
This spring, may I bloom with boldness, grace, and unwavering faith.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
With love and light,
Dr. Kay
